John is a great person, I knew him as a kid he worked with my mom. Then when I was older and got my own house He helped me with some renovations and things. Then sometimes he would just stop in for a cup of tea or coffee on his way by into town just to say hi.... What a great person that you can trust

We were so shocked and saddened when we heard of John’s passing. He was a wonderful and talented gentleman and we had the privilege of getting to know him and admire his work while he created three kitchens in three different homes for us. He was always smiling and welcomed a chat whenever we met. His dog always accompanied him to our work site and had a special bond with John. Our prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.

John came to me the night before his passing while I was mowing my lawn next door, he said "Rob you need to slow down and enjoy life because we may not be here tomorrow". Those words hit pretty hard after John passed away the next day because he couldn't have been more right. He has many friends and I guarantee we will all be there for the Hickey family. Rob and Carolyn.

We are beyond saddened to hear of John’s passing. We met John thru his carpentery work; and soon become friends. John build our kitchen cabinets in our new home and was always there for us no matter what the situation was. He was a library of knowledge and we appreciated his “opinions”. Rest easy John. You will always be part of our new home. Deepest condolences to Joan and family. God Bless.

We physically won't be able to make it to the Funeral Home, but in our minds and hearts, Madelyn and I will be with you in this time of sadness. We will miss John a lot. Heck, we will be remembering John every time we look out the new windows he installed, open a kitchen cupboard, walk on our back deck, look at the new siding on the house or go into the bathroom he that he completely rebuilt. Did we mention the new roof, the paint jobs, or the vanity he built? So we will certainly miss his truck in our driveway with Rascal waiting inside while John went about his many tasks over the (30+) years of keeping our house looking so good. And we'll remember the jokes and stories, too! Joan, we're sure that John and his dog are on their way to some great new adventures. Lots of love. Madelyn and David Williams

Angie and family. So very sorry to see this.. Last week John stopped by Moms to say hello and we talked about his wood working, how proud he was of you and how well you were doing. He had a lot of jokes to tell and he brought a squirrel in a live trap he did not have the heart to harm. He let my daughter release it in Mom's backyard. He was celebrating a birthday and we sent him off with a card and a hug. He always loved coming to say hi to mom and dad. Such a sweet man and kind, he will be missed. My sincere condolences to all of you and hugs. Rest easy John. Belinda (Rolfe) Humphrey

John and Rascal were out and about (John trying to catch Rascal socializing) and one day my brother and a friend of mine were having a fire and hanging out.. John came into the driveway and we offered him a beer. John was one of the "old boys". He treated you with respect, knew how to have fun and a good laugh, and adored his wife. He treated us all like we were friends for a long time and we had a great time. I'll never forget that pleasant surprise. I'll miss your random visits my friend.
To his family.. you got a good one. My deepest condolences.
