Paula, Andrea, Krista , Denise & family,
I was very sorry to hear of your mother‘s death. She was a very kind, caring and loving person. She always had a great sense of humour and a twinkle in her eyes. I knew her growing up and in later years if I was visiting my parents she was often dropping by with food usually chowder and rolls.
My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Hope the great memories help you.

I remember my mother sewing Marybels beautiful wedding gown, without a pattern, and with a bustle. She had found the dress on the cover of a magazine and brought it to Mum. This being after Mum had made the cheerleaders plaid, pleated skirts, for Rothesay High School.
What fun we all had for try one.
Happy memories of a wonderful woman.

My heartfelt sympathy to all Marybel’s family. I first met her when I was a board member at the Villa Madonna and she became the new executive director. Maryibel embraced her new role with enthusiasm, confidence, great leadership skills and a wonderful welcoming spirit! She was well loved! I continued to connect with her at Shannex when I brought her Communion. She was always so gracious and appreciative…. loved to chat and get “ caught up” with the news. Maribel touched many lives, but it was her family that she most often shared their joys. Continue to share stories with laughter and tears as you mourn and grieve. Holding you in my thoughts and prayers as you remember this most gracious lady. Donna (Schroeter)

To , Paula, Andrea, Krystal and Denise and all the family. I have some wonderful memories of your mother at Bocabec and later at the Villa Madonna. She was the very first friend of Harry's that he introduced me to, and we got along so well , he was very pleased. After we married we spent many great times with his group of friends at her cottage cooking up great pots of lobster ( Harry and Roger ) on the fire and having a fabulous time. She was very supportive of me during Harry's illness and I shall never forget how special she was to him and also to me.
Her passing will be a huge loss to you and her grandchildren, as well as her family. My thoughts are with you at this time. Keep all your happy memories of the days at the cottage surrounded by her love and as many people as could have.
Sincerely Muriel Flood

Sue and I would like to express our deepest sympathies to Marybel's extended family. We had the pleasure of meeting Marybel a long time ago while visiting the family cottage in Bocabec with John and Diane Hachey who were very good friends of ours. And of course we are good friends with Pat and Jane Sullivan as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time in our lives.

Dear Paula, Andrea, Krista and Denise,
I send my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Marybel. Your home loomed large during my time in Kennebecasis Park as one of my favorite babysitting gigs. It was a testament to your Mom’s devotion, competence and joy in homemaking and child rearing.
On your Mom’s return from her outings she always had time to hear what was happening in my life. That was so important during my late teenage years and early 20s.
My husband, Steve, had a chance to know Marybel, too. Our lives overlapped in Los Angeles where it was nice to have Maritime company. Steve laughingly recalls talking to Marybel in a supermarket as he held up a batch of sugar peas. He said to her “there’s nothing like a good pea (pee)” and they both burst out laughing. I can hear her chortle now.
Cheers to you Marybel! We’ll certainly raise a toast to having had you as part of our life’s journey.
Chris (Theriault) Zinder

Paula, Andrea, Krista, Denise,
Your Mom had such a huge influence on my life, as she did with so many and I will always hold a special place in my heart for her and all of you. From encouraging a shy girl to try new things, to family trips, boating, skiing and girl guides, she was a force of nature! I know how proud she was of you and your families as she often told me. Greg and I send you all sincere sympathy. Jill

Paula, Andrea, Krista and Denise - we are so sorry to learn of your mom’s passing. Your Mom was an icon - directing and guiding us through the years. What a great lady. I have so many memories from K Park days, visits to Bocabec, Aske/Flood/Oland ski trips to Sugarloaf, Girl Guide camp and oh yes her culinary culinary talents! Only a Marybel run Guide Camp served up amazing pots of goulash along the shores of the Belleisle. She was an organizer and kept us all in line and on task. So many memories. We are thinking about you and your families and sending our love and appreciation for Marybel. Xoxo Karen McNally (Aske)

Marybel was a close friend of my Mother-in-law, Olga McCormick, and we became friends too. We took a day trip to St. Andrews. First we were able to find the cottage which was full of family traditions. Then once we arrived in St. Andrews Marybel asked if she could drive my car and from there we toured the area. She showed me the house where she grew up and shared the history of her family and the town. It was a wonderful day that I will always remember. Here's to you Marybel Oland!
