Obituary of Shirley Mildred Norrad
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Shirley (Friars) Norrad, wife of the late C. Paul Norrad, announces her passing which occurred on Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Sussex Health Centre. Born on July 26, 1943, in Pembroke, ON, she was the daughter of the late Ora and Myrtle (Parlee) Friars. She was raised in Sussex, NB and spent most of her life in Quispamsis.
During her life, Shirley was a proud stay at home mom, who spent her time affectionately raising her children. She was a loving and caring person. She enjoyed having friends spend time at her cottage and entertaining them. Shirley loved to take drives in the country looking at the scenery.
She is survived by her sons, Daryl and Brad (Jacqueline) Norrad; son-in-law, Greg Perkins; grandchildren: Molly Norrad, Cody and Delaney Perkins; sister Eleanor (Glen) Armstrong; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Paul; daughters, Deborah Norrad and Tracy Perkins; as well as her sister Dorothy Black.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd. Quispamsis (849-2119). In keeping with Shirley’s wishes no visitation or funeral service will take place at this time. A private graveside service will take place in Riverbank Cemetery at a later date, where Shirley will be reunited with her husband and daughters. Donations made in memory of Shirley may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
