My condolences to Wanda, Paula and family. Verna was such a loving and caring person who was beautiful inside and out. I have many great memories growing up with family events like Christmas, baby/bridal showers, etc. I especially remember the summer camp hanging out on the beach, family meals and getting a boat ride. My children over the past 30 years have enjoyed spending time with their great aunt and uncle Verna & Jimmy every time we visit New Brunswick including my most recent visit to Verna in May 2023. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during this very difficult time. Verna will be sadly missed.
Love Trudy, Keven, Alexa & Derek

These are my memories of Aunt Boo Boo
by Lynne Woolnough (nee: Kelly)
I have so many happy memories. Aunt Boo Boo was the ‘Hostess with the Mostest’. I loved going to the parties she had where she always used her good china dishes. I remember card games at Bruce and Georgie's on Saturday nights. I remember her pies: her “thing”! She had so much energy and was always happy, always interested in what I was doing. I remember that she loved her vegetable and flower gardens at the cottage. But most of all, I remember her sweet smile.
Stevie and I were Verna’s first niece and nephew that came along and we felt her love all the time. Looking back, she did spoil us. I remember the white handwoven skirt she gave me with straps. I still have the full length mirror she gave me for a special occasion.
We liked many of the same things. We liked to sit in the sun, swim, chat about boyfriends. We talked about how to know when they love you and when he is the "right one." I felt I could tell her my secrets. I remember babysitting Wanda in the wee "garage" house that was in Quispamsis. I also babysat the girls in the big house down in Fairvale. that was just huge and kind of spooky at times.
Aunt Boo Boo had always said I could be her flower girl but by the time she met Jimmy I was too old, so I was her Junior Bridesmaid. I had a very itchy dress but never told her because I loved her so much! As a teenager, I helped with Wanda when Verna got her tonsils out in Bathurst (I think). When Verna worked in Ontario, she and I would send letters back and forth and talk about the food she had on the plane, like potato scallops, ham and peas: our favorites!
Why did I call Verna “Boo Boo”? Because when I was small, I couldn't say ”Verna” so I called her Boo Boo and it stuck. Even on Birthday and Christmas cards I said, “to Aunt Boo Boo”. And at our last visit she recognized me when I said "Hi Aunt Boo Boo." She opened her eyes and smiled that sweet smile.
Aunt Boo Boo, I love you. Rest in Peace.

Dear Wanda and Paula:
Thinking of you and your families. I am so thankful for the visit with Verna on May 18, 2023. It was like a dream to see Vera that day together with Wanda, Brian, and Karen. Verna is the last of her siblings to say good-bye to; a family of Whites now passed. I remember our families camping together when we were kids and we played at the house on the Clarke Rd., and later visits to the camp, and attending church. Christmas time visits and meals together were special events. On a visit to Victoria to see my parents, we all had lunch downtown and talked of old times - Verna happy and elegant bringing news of Wanda and Paula and her grandchildren.

Wanda, Paula and families, so very sorry to see that your mom has passed. We enjoyed the times we spent with them in Florida, and when we were on a cruise together a few years ago. They were so well traveled, and took such good care of John and I, along with Paulette and Keith, Royden and Joan too. We have wonderful memories. Verna was always up for an adventure, and having a game of cards or two. May all your wonderful memories help in the coming days, as you say your final goodbyes.
