Had nothing but total respect for this man. All the years coaching in that barn was always greeted with a smile he was honest and respectful with a dash of humour and sarcasm. He will be missed we had lots of laughs over the years and loved the guy. RIP my friend.

I feel like I have been hiding under a rock. ( blindsided by reading this in the obituairies a month later ) So sorry to here of Edgars passing! He was one of my favourites! Always took time to stop and chat ! A very good person/ athlete / referee/ lots of fun to be around (not so fun to play against ), but always respected. I do know anybody that could shuffle his feet like Edgar when hitting a fastball and place the ball any place on the field where he pleased! Will be sadly missed!

I had the pleasure of working a few Summers (as a high school student) with the Parks & Rec. department alongside Edgar and he was alot of fun. His wit & humour were never lacking. Those were 2 of the best summers I had-- working with "Edgy", as my boss. Great guy. My condolences to the Friars family.

To the entire Friars family, my deepest sympathies. I knew Edgar almost my entire life spending a lot of time with him at the rink when it was my second home. I can honestly say that he made me laugh every time I was around him. All through my hockey playing days the was only one guy that sharpened my skates, he was the best

To all Edgar's Family. My deepest condolences . Very sorry for you loss . I got to know Edgar very well as I managed the K.V. Arena (Rothesay Arena after amalgamation) from 1990 to 2012. He was a person of great skill operating the Zambone to the skate sharpening machine. He also sharped skates at Kennebecasis Sporting Goods from 1979 to 1996. He was a great worker and a man of very quick wit. His memory will remain with many who knew him.

We are so sorry to hear of Edgar’s passing. We knew him originally from the Rothesay arena, but more recently from our walks at the ball field trail with Nicky. Walking our dog is a daily activity and we often met up with your dad. He would ask about all the “hockey info” going on and share his stories. What a wonderful man and so nice to talk with.

So sorry to hear about Edgar’s passing. I always enjoyed seeing him at KV Sports sharpening skates. One of the best, that’s for sure. He would always fix my skates whenever I needed it; even at the rink, he would pull out his stone and fix ‘em up! As a kid, I enjoyed talking with Edgar and learning from him. Fond memories.
