Obituary of Thomas William Condon
It is with great sadness that the family of Tom Condon announce his passing. He passed away in the early morning hours of March 24th at Bobby’s Hospice in Saint John with his wife Carol at his side.
Tom was born in Clear Creek, Ontario and raised in Highland Grove, Ontario. After leaving home, Tom spent the early years of his life in Oakville before settling in Saint John in 1976. Tom is survived by his wife Carol, his children; Lori (Troy)MacDonald, Saint John NB, Karen Condon (Scott Doiron), Richmond BC, Stepchildren; Jeffrey (Debbie)Gardner, Halifax NS, Candace Gardner, Orillia ON. Grandchildren; Mitchell, Devon, Shelbey and Baillie. He is also survived by sisters; Arlene, Hilda, Cheryl and Joyce and brother John and several nieces and nephews.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Theadore (Ted) and Myrtle and his brothers Charlie and Ted.
Tom worked for over twenty years in the film industry in Toronto. After that he spent 13 years in the janitorial business in Saint John with his brother Ted and even drove school bus. He then began a successful auto striping business where he provided services for several prominent businesses and many auto dealers in Saint John and Sussex. Tom had several hobbies including fishing, hunting and learning to play the fiddle, and was a recreational pilot for several years.
The family would like to send a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and the palliative care team at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their kindness, care and support over the last few months.
We would also like to acknowledge and thank the incredible staff at Bobby’s Hospice. While Tom’s stay was short, the love and support was incredible and it made Tom’s last days warm and comfortable.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 4-8 PM and Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 9-11AM with Tom’s celebration of life beginning at 11AM from Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home Chapel. For friends and family unable to attend, Tom’s service will be livestreamed at www.kennebecasisfh.com by clicking the available link provided. Donations in memory of Tom can be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or Bobby’s Hospice.
