Obituary of Marion Bird
It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Marion Alice (McQuinn) Bird announce her passing on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Kiwanis Nursing Home in Sussex, NB. Born in Mt. Pisgah, NB, on March 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James and Mildred (Perkins) McQuinn.
Marion grew up in Mt. Pisgah, NB. After completing high school in Sussex, NB, she eventually became an administrative assistant in Burlington, Ontario, for many years. She met Bill Bird, an Air Canada pilot, while living in Burlington and they were married in 1972. They later separated and Marion continued to live in Burlington until she retired and moved back to Quispamsis, NB. She was a member of St. David’s United Church in Rothesay, NB.
Marion was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Walter McQuinn, Gerald McQuinn, Harold McQuinn; her sisters Pauline Carr, Louise Schofield and sister-in-law, Phyllis McQuinn.
She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Helen McQuinn and several nieces and nephews as well as friends Jean and Guent Driedger of Surrey, BC, whom she travelled with for many years.
Special thanks to the staff of Kiwanis Nursing Home for the excellent care that Marion received there.
