From John Radburn, Witney, Oxfordshire. "Dave was the brother I never had. We met as apprentices on day one of our joining Pressed Steel Fisher in Oxford; this eventually became the body shop for the British Leyland Group. As an apprentice, Dave progressed into the manufacture of the body panels which were in wide use throughout the industry at that time.
We both had a keen interest in hunting, shooting and fishing and we spent many great weekends on the sides of various waters throughout Oxfordshire and beyond. We tended to fish more rivers rather than lakes, and while we were waiting for the fish to bite we would discuss anything and everything - and put the world to rights.
As I had no brothers or sisters, Dave became a great mate and mentor. We remained friends - even with the Atlantic between us - and treasure the few but happy times when Dave and Diane came over and we met up again. Maddy and I send so much love to Diane and all the family at this difficult time.

I am so very sad to just learn of David’s passing. You don’t know me, but I was a friend of Dave’s in the Birding circle and fellow member of the St. John naturalist club. We have been out birding together on so many occasions both in and around SJ and Grand Manan. My husband is also from England, so David and I shared that connection and loved chatting about all things UK. He did talk about you, Diane, and his boys often with such pride. He was such a humble soft-spoken man. In fact, I was just sharing a story when we were in grand Manan a couple of weeks ago about one time yrs ago we were all staying at the Surfside, and I made a comment when I saw the ferry opened up - genuinely asking if they were changing the oil because I thought the hood was popped lol it sounds ridiculous now, but I was serious in the moment. I remember David laughed so hard that he spit his beer out. God bless him and all of you ❤️

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Uncle David. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. He was a remarkable person and although the times we spent together were often quite short his kindness is something I will always remember.
I have no doubt he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Dear Diane and Family,
John and I extend are deeply saddened with David's passing. Hs quiet manner, his love for birding will always be with us.
We were fortunate to celebrate several birthdays together.
Our families had Christmas dinner at Andrew's and Leanne's last year, and it was wonderful. One of my memories is David ricing the potatoes with a malfunctioning ricer. Lots of potatoes missed the ricer and David promptly got a new one to use for next Christmas! He will be missed but always remembered.

My deepest condolences to the family of David. Learning of his sudden passing was with great sadness. I had the opportunity on occasions to be out on the birding circuit with David and friends in my community of Charlotte County. Remembering his soft spoken nature, being the gentleman that he was, I will miss Davids smiling face on those occasions when we would find a not so common bird on a nature outing.
