Obituary of Andrea Marie Gordon
Surrounded by her family, the death of Andrea Gordon occurred peacefully on May 16th 2024. She was born on December 21, 1946 in Saint John, to the late Theodore J. Robichaud and Marguerite M. (Leblanc). Andrea has been a life-long strong advocate for the disability community, during which time she and her son Scott became instrumental in the formation of the Quispamsis Municipal Advisory Committee for Disabled Persons, and later served as Chairperson and committee member of the Kennebecasis Valley Committee for Disabled Persons. She was also an honorary member of The Blue Helmets and a member of the Canadian Peacekeeping Veterans Association, as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch #58). In 2010, she was honoured with the Town of Quispamsis volunteer recognition award. In 2014, she was a recipient of the Memorial Cross in honour of her late husband Maurice Gordon’s service with the Canadian Forces.
Andrea was a parishioner at Saint Mark's Parish and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. She was a lover of music and family. One of her favourite pastimes was going for long Sunday drives.
Andrea is survived by her children, Mark Gordon (Lori Morris) of Greenwood, NS and Kristina Gordon of Saint John; her precious grandchildren Kyle (Mica Szpigiel) and Laine Gordon; sister Nora Ulmanis (Lou) and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Gloria (2002), husband Maurice (2012) and son Scott (2000).
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visitation on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Graveside Service to follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Rothesay.
