Obituary of Donald Matthew Heron
Donald Matthew Heron passed away peacefully at St Joseph's Hospital on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024.
Born November 18, 1939, to the late Orva Matthew and Agnes Marie (Potter) Heron, Don was a member of St Luke's Anglican Church in Quispamsis. He served in the RCAF before working for the Department of Transport until retirement. He then took up volunteering with the Kennebecasis Public Library. He was also a longtime supporter of Orienteering in New Brunswick.
Don is survived by his three children Christopher (Sara), Stephen (Lori), and Mairi, along with seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Elias, Victoria, Xan, Larissa, Rachel, and Andrew, two great-grandchildren, Matthew, and Catherine. He is also survived by his eldest brother Alan and younger sister Wanda, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Judith Ann and brother William.
In keeping with Don's wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 1PM. For those unable to attend, a livestream of Don’s service will be available by clicking on the provided link. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kennebecasis Public Library, St. Luke's Anglican Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
