My deepest condolences to all of us, especially Heidi, Hansi, Nadia, Brendan, Zackary, Jakob and Jessika. You all meant the world to Gale, so did her dear brothers and sisters. She spoke about you often and was proud of each and every one of you. To our family, she was a great friend as well as an auntie and godmother to our children. Gale was everything we needed in our lives to cheer us on. She was giving, caring, kind, talented, positive, playful, supportive, fearless and always ready to give a hand to people in need …. I met her when she and our dear Reidar had just been relocated to Montreal due to work, about 37 years ago. We soon bonded and became a family and started to hang out on a weekly basis. Our children Adrian and Sara considered Gale and Reidar their uncle and aunt and Heidi and Hansi their cousins, so did we.
Gale would drop everything and come to my rescue the minute I would call and ask for her help. Adrian would not stay with anyone other than two or three very important people in his life. Gale was one of them. Sara followed suit and created an enviable bond with her Auntie/Godmother Gale. Sara hung out with and confided in Auntie Gale as long as she was in Montreal and then kept in touch with her, long distance, once they each moved to a different city. To this day, anytime she bakes or does arts and crafts with her daughter Luna, she fondly remembers her auntie Gale and how she expressed tenderness, attention and love to her and Adrian in the same way.
Gale was a pillar in our household whether she lived close by or far away. We loved her, cherished her and kept in touch. The last exchange we had was on April Fool’s Day 2024. I managed to tickle her a bit with my silly April Fool’s Day prank, which our brilliant Hansi quickly deciphered and dismissed. I didn’t know about Gale’s surgery, though, and was only going to call her on her upcoming birthday as usual.
My family and I, along with all our close friends and relatives - who also considered Gale a principal member of our family - will miss her company as well as her kind face, her beautiful smile, her yummy cakes and pastries and all the happy days we spent together. Our lives will be much less meaningful without her.
Our thoughts are with you,
Arezoo, Emilio, Adrian and Sara

I was very surprised and saddened to hear of cousin Gale’s passing I send my love and sincere condolences to her family, friends and all who knew her. Although I didn’t know her well, we had talked a few times and she was always so nice and kind. We talked about our grandsons who played chess and hoped to get them together for a game. Thinking of you all

We are so very sorry for the loss of an amazing woman. When we moved to Montreal in 2004, Hans asked Gale to help us find a place to live. We had never met her before, but when she brought us around that day, it’s like we had known her forever. That day she became a wonderful addition to our family. Hannah was only 2 at the time so she became “Grandma Gale”. She was so attentive, loving, kind, funny, helpful, the list goes on. She always involved us in family gatherings because we were away from home. She made us feel like we were a part of her family. Grandma Gale was amazing with Hannah. She would always have crafts, toys, and projects for her to do. She babysat Hannah several times including when Elizabeth was being born(her & Heidi). She picked up my Mom from the greyhound that night to bring her to the hospital for the birth. She stayed with my Mom at the hospital waiting for Elizabeth to arrive. I will never ever forget this and many other selfless acts that she did for us. You will forever be missed “Grandma Gale”.
I know you are not suffering anymore and you are at peace with Our Father and rejoicing with Jesus and all who have gone before you, including Radar. We love you very much and deeply appreciate your friendship and your amazing kindness towards our family. XO
Love from Bruce, Tanya, Hannah and Elizabeth
We are forever greatly to you.
Sending our deepest condolences to Hans, Nadia Bas, Heidi Fredriksen, and families. We love you all. Take care at this very difficult time.
Love, hugs, & prayers

My condolences to the Numme family. ❤️ I will always remember Gale as a kind hearted woman. This is a picture of when I gave birth to my daughter and Gale came to visit me. Until we meet again in heaven! It is comforting knowing that Gale is with Jesus and her life is really only beginning!!

My Condolences to all of Gales Family. Her sudden death was quite a shock!
Ive known Gale from the time I was a teenager. Hanging out at their house with Ruth.
I have many memories of Gale. The last time being at Sachas wedding in the Dominican. It was a wonderful time, until Gale got a call her husband had passed away.
Gale was a Lady of Great Faith in God.
The Bible tells us that to be Absent from the Body is to be Present with the Lord!
I hope Gails Family will take comfort in this

Dear Heidi and Hans, I have known you guys since you were born, you had the best mother any kid could ask for, we didn’t call her “BINNA” for nothing,(that’s mamma bear in Norwegian), her first priority was always you guys.
She was a special person and friend to me, we could sit and talk about anything, and we would get some Chinese food, a bottle of Marlow, and talk and talk, usually on a Friday, almost as a ritual, she would always say, you are the only one Hansen that gets away with telling me off, ha, ha.
It is with heavy heart that I say goodbye to your mom.
May she rest in peace.
Cato.

You are part of him and he in turn shares much of you with others through generous character and creating many happy times. May you enjoy your eternal reward knowing you made the world a much better place.
