Obituary of Charles Harvey Fawcett
It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Charles Harvey Fawcett, of Rothesay, announce his passing on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Born on August 13, 1947, in Amherst, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late John and Mae Fawcett (Tapley). Charlie was an Industrial Engineer by trade, which led him to work at NBtel and NB power. He owned and operated Pro-Am Sports and established a prevalent windsurfing school based out of the Renforth cove. He loved teaching people to ski, and was an active ski instructor for over 40 years. Charlie loved being outdoors, he enjoyed performance cycling, skiing, snowboarding, and windsurfing. In his downtime, he enjoyed reading a good book and spending time with his family.
Charles is survived by his best friend and former wife, Anne French, his son Mark Fawcett and wife Shelly Kindred-Fawcett of Nelson BC. Grandchildren, Jacob Kindred and Phoebe Fawcett, sister C. Anne Fawcett of Rothesay, cousins Elizabeth (Harrison) Crimmins and Cameron Crimmins, extended family and many, many friends. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will take place at the Bill McGuire (Renforth) Community Centre, 95 James Renforth Dr., Rothesay, on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Charlie can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
