Obituary of Percey Joseph Dodsworth
Percey “Joe” Joseph Dodsworth, husband of the late Effie (Rector) Dodsworth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on July 18, 1927, in Athol, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Joseph and Edith (Dow) Dodsworth. Joe was an electrician at the Saint John Dry Dock for over 25 years until his retirement. He enjoyed boating, riding his tractor, gardening, and tinkering with projects, He could build or fix anything.
Joe is survived by his sons; Kevin (Ruth ) of Quispamsis, Shawn (Debbie Burns) of Enfield, NS, daughters, Pam Dodsworth (Larry Fox) of Darlings Island, and Heather Dodsworth, of North Field, Maine, his brother Lester Dodsworth of PEI, grandchildren; Selena McAuley (Dodsworth), Shane Dodsworth, Jillian Slaunwhite, Dana Dodsworth, Leah Dodsworth, and Keaton Dodsworth, great grandson, Jackson Scime, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. Joe will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents and wife, Joe is predeceased by his brothers, Merle, Robert, Earl, Foster, and Arnold his sisters; Dorothy, June, Marion, and Edna.
In keeping with Joe’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-949-2119). For those who wish, donations in memory of Joe can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
