Obituary of Shirley Anne Malcolm
It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Shirley (Morrow) Malcolm, wife of Bruce Malcolm, announce her sudden passing on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born on August 10, 1946, in Moncton, NB, she was a daughter of John and Laura (Cook) Morrow. Shirley was a kindergarten teacher from 1979-1990, she also taught in St. Martin's and Forest Hill for several years. She was a volunteer with St. John Ambulance, working with her therapy dog, Grady. She loved walking and grooming the dogs. Shirley enjoyed bringing her dog to various Nursing Homes. She loved to quilt, sew, knit, stain glass and pottery. Shirley and Bruce enjoyed travelling to Valle Del Oro in Mesa, Arizona, every winter for 15 years.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Bruce of 52 years, her son Douglas (Brenda) of Quispamsis, and Andrew Malcolm of Montreal, QC, daughter Pamela Malcolm of London, ON, sister Wendy Rimmer (Mary), step brother John Morrow (Gail), step sister Kim Carter (Brian), granddaughter Rachel, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her step mother Freda Morrow.
In keeping with Shirley's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Visiting will take place at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Interment to take place at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
