Obituary of Edward Leo Beckwith
Ed Beckwith of Quispamsis, husband of Beatrice (Beyea) Beckwith passed away December 29, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Saint John, son of the late Arthur and Gladys (McCluskey) Beckwith.
He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. In his early years his greatest past times were golf and camping at Fundy National Park. Ed was owner and President of Beckwith Bros. Ltd. He enjoyed volunteering and served his community as Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Quispamsis in the 1970’s. He was instrumental on getting the the first ambulance in Quispamsis. Ed was an Elder and Trustee at St. Andrews Kirk United Church, Hammond River.
He is survived by his wife Beatrice; two daughters, Vicky Bowland of Fredericton, Heather Wanamaker (Paul) of Bloomfield; one son, Jeffrey Beckwith (Sandi) of Quispamsis; four sisters, Judy Cashol of Bloomfield, Dorothy Beyea (John) of Quispamsis, Gladys Farhnam of Upper Golden Grove, Lorraine Gray (Fred) of Saint John; seven grandchildren, one great grandson, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Pauline Lavalle, Lillian Beckwith, Marjorie Garnett; and brothers, David, John, Arthur and Paul Beckwith.
Resting at Kennebecasis Select Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, NB, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Monday, December 31, 2012 from noon - 2:00 PM when the funeral service will take place at the funeral home. Interment will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John.
