Obituary of Kathleen Audrey Ellis
Kathleen (Kay) passed away peacefully on January 4, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on March 9, 1922 in Fredericton, NB, the daughter of Emro and Tressa Estey. Predeceased by her husband Edward in 1985, her sister Pauline (Alvin) LeGreasly and brothers Colin (Mary) and Harvey (Helen). Kay is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Leroy) Clowater and her sons Ronald (Flo), Wendell (Kathy), Fred (Janice) and Arnie (Monique). Kay was dearly loved by her 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Kay was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed. Kay was a long time active member of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch 58 for 55 years and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Dart team for many years. She was always available to lend a helping hand and could be found volunteering at the Legion serving food or cooking in the kitchen. Kay loved to travel and had countless road trips away with the Ladies dart team, family and friends. She loved to spend time in the garden and the family loved to receive her warm knitted socks and mitts. Kay’s greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and friends.
A celebration of Kay’s life will be held at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home on the Pettingill Road in Quispamsis, NB on Monday, January 7th. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 followed by the funeral service at 7:00 pm. Reception will follow. Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. www.kennebecasisfh.com
