Obituary of Vera Marjorie Taylor McNulty
The death of Vera Taylor of Quispamsis, wife of the late Richard E. McNulty and the late George M. Taylor, occurred on Monday, January 28, 2013, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on May 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Annie (Shannon) Johnston.
Vera was past president and lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch 58. In her younger years, she was active with Meals on Wheels and a member of the Rothesay Seniors Club. Most of all, Vera treasured and enjoyed spending time with her precious family who will always remember her as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Vera is survived by her children, Rick McNulty and Veronica Chamberlain (Ron) all of Gondola Point, Fran McNulty, Mary Jane Forsythe and Rose Marie McNulty all of Quispamsis, Pat McNulty (Cheryl) of Saint John, Beth Ann Cooper (Bo) of Fairvale, Terry McNulty (Laura) of Bathurst, Shawn McNulty (Janet) of Gondola Point and Mark McNulty (Susan) of Saint John; sisters, Shirley McNeill of Saint John and Donna Dagget (Larry) of Lorneville; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marjorie, Betty and Joan Johnston and Bernice (Wayne) Brookins, brothers-in-law, James Smith and Thomas (Carolyn) McNulty; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son, David McNulty; granddaughter, Laura O’Dell and her husband Greg; daughters-in-law, Sue and Virginia McNulty; sisters, Connie Burley and Eleanor Smith; as well as brothers, Donald, Earl “Buddy”, Burton and Raymond Johnston.
Vera’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of 3DS at the SJRH, for providing her with such excellent care. The support and concern shown towards her and her family will never be forgotten.
Arrangements are entrusted to Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (506) 849-2119, with visitation on Thursday, January 31, 2013 between the hours of 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM. A Legion Auxiliary Tribute will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM followed by Vigil Prayers at 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, on Friday, February 1, 2013, at 10:00 AM. A reception will be held in the church hall immediately following. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
