Obituary of Leona Nadine Martin
Leona Nadine Martin (nee Gordon) passed away peacefully at her residence of two years, Embassy Hall - Shannex, Quispamsis, on Sunday, February 3, 2013. Born on January 20, 1931, she had just celebrated her 82nd birthday.
Leona’s zest for life was evident in her very nature. Humour, love of people, love of dance and love of family were foremost in her life. A lover of all activity, she participated in bowling leagues, cross country skiing, extensive travel and also volunteered with seniors. Employed at MRA’s for a number of years, she continued her retail career working throughout the city at numerous stores such as Reitmans, Zellers and Towers.
She is survived by her children, Richard Martin (Beverley) of Rothesay, Maxine Martin of Saint John, Joanne Mowry (Richard) and Pam Cole (Mike) all of Quispamsis; sister, Pauline Long of Saint John; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Joseph Martin; parents, Paul and Olive (McGinley) Gordon and brothers, Phillip, Maurice “Moe”, Lloyd and Douglas.
A special thanks and appreciation to the staff of Embassy Hall - Shannex for their exceptional care, attention and love of our mother.
