Obituary of Evelyn M. Ekstrom
Evelyn Ekstrom, wife of Harold Ekstrom, passed away on November 28, 2013, at Kings Way Care Centre. Born in Gagetown on July 9, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Lotty (Little) Brown. Evelyn worked in the accounting department of Irving Oil for 17 years, and enjoyed crafts, quilting, and spending time at the trailer in Cambridge-Narrows. In addition to her husband, Evelyn is survived by a son, Stephen Ekstrom (Susan), daughters Christina Raynard (the late Norm), Elizabeth Dubee (Robert) and Deborah Hammond (Tony), a brother, Malcolm Brown, sisters Levina Chase and Ella Coulson, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Evelyn was pre-deceased by brothers Woodrow and Oative, and sisters Bertie Hanson, Greta Runge, Kathleen Brown, and Anne Deveau. Although there will be no visitation, family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held from the Chapel of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, on Sunday, December 1st, at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119).
