Obituary of Gerard Joseph McGraw
Surrounded by his family the death of Gerard "Jerry" Joseph McGraw of Quispamsis, husband of the late Kathleen Marie "June" (Logan) McGraw, occurred on Monday, March 3, 2014, at Kings Way Care Centre.
Born in Val Comeau, NB, on October 12, 1923, he was the son of the late Peter and Eugenie (Basque) McGraw.
Jerry was employed with Moosehead Breweries for 44 years and a member of Local 362 until his retirement. He enjoyed playing crib, gardening, playing the accordian and spending loving time with his family at his cottage in Val Comeau.
Survived by his daughter; Gail Sonier (Joseph Richard) of Quispamsis, and sons Tony (Mary) of Saint John, and Pierre (Marion) of Quispamsis, brother Venance Sonier of Moncton, sister Lea LeClair of Hampton, grandchildren; Nicole Swim (Jeff), Jeffrey Sonier (Patti), Troy McGraw (Tara), Travis McGraw, and Mitchell McGraw, great-grandchildren; Robyn, Kailey, Grace, Blythe, and Charlotte, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was predeceased by his step-father, Henri Sonier, brothers; Fred and Alvida McGraw and Livain Sonier, sisters; Rita Breau, Délia Benoit, and Merilda Losier.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mark's Catholic Church on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment to take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, would be appreciated.
