Bill Ross posted a condolence
Dear Wendy Vicky Misty Lindsay & Ashley Freddy & Wanda and & Families I never had another Friend like Michael his style and personality were all his own, he was in a class all by himself when it came to being Michael. I have been friends with Michael for close to 50 years although I did not see him as much as I should have, thats life. Whenever I ran into him it was like we picked up where we left off . I think about Mikes band Spring Suspension the Orange Hall Fairvale club house Mike playing guitar and singing CCR Songs The old gang all wearing rawhide coats with fringes and cowboy boots with half-moon clickers on the heels. Walking down the Gondola Point road at midnight waking everybody up with the racket coming from a dozen pairs of cowboy boots banging on the road with those clickers. Singing yelling and never thinking of tomorrow . Campfires sleeping out overnight on the beach sailing on the Kennebecasis. All that silly talk and silly arguments that 12 year olds have. Love you Michael and I will miss you. Your friend Bill.

I wrote Mike an email a few days ago, not realizing how short his time was. I wanted him to know how much he meant to me and why. Sadly, he passed before he got to see it. I'm going to post it here to let everyone know just how special Mike was and how deeply he will be missed. " I must say, you had me at a total loss for words when you called with your news. I've thought of you so often since, trying to grasp the finality of the situation. All I'm left with is a bunch of thoughts that all start with "If only....." There's nothing I can really say that will change anything, but I wanted you to know that you are one of my very few true friends. For that I thank you. Think about it, you have been a part of my life for nearly 40 years; sometimes in a small way, other times big. Hard to believe it has been so long. I can remember so clearly you all living on Pettingill Rd, both of you barely out of childhood yourselves. You two were unique in that being "adults, with children", you looked at me as a friend and not just some pain in the ass kid. For that, I say thank you. When I was divorced and unemployed, you stepped up and hired me, even though I had no idea of what I was doing. You didn't just give me a job, you let me know that someone still cared, that someone believed in me. For that, I say thank you. When you and Wendy would go through hard times, you two proved that your love for each other could get you through anything. While I know that your marriage wasn't always smooth sailing, you showed me that if there is real love in your heart you can over come anything. Believe me, that knowledge played a part in Heather and I making it this far. For that, I can't thank you enough. It's sad that we have spent so little time together these last dozen years. Everyone always thinks, "Well, I'll have more time later", but rarely do we find the time. For that, I say I'm sorry. Your call touched me. In the midst of everything you and your family must be going through, you thought of me enough to call. While it was very hard to hear that one of my best friends is about to die, I appreciate the call. To hear it directly from you somehow made it better. For that I thank you. You had mentioned that you were thinking of throwing a party sometime soon. Let me know when it will be (if you're up to it) and I will do everything I can to be there. Maybe I can get to hear just a couple more of your corny jokes, just don't call me Beaker :-). If you don't have the party, I certainly understand. Just know that you will be dearly missed and if there is EVER anything I can do for your family, all they have to do is call. All our love to you and your family, Chip and Heather" Rest well Mike.

I am so sorry for your loss. Life is very short and it should not be measured by what we own, but how we love and treat others. Wanda Stone posted a condolence
Here I sit at dawn looking at this modern tool of communication and how fast it can transmit our thoughts and fears, hopes and dreams or sometimes our unfiltered rantings as I have occasionally done LOL. for all intents and puposes it is the things that we are most passionate about that our souls cry out to be heard and after all we are told that the word is mightier than the sword, right? I think for anyone who cares to listen that when we come into this world that our soul is flat and as we grow and learn our lessons that it takes on the dimension of depth and width like a patch work quilt, all the people that touch us leave some fabric of their lives on our hearts, they are held there by silvery threads from our tears, these patches have colour and texture and cover the scars of hurt and fear and every time we feel the sorrow and love our souls get bigger and bigger, some patches with rough texture and some smooth and soft until we are a mixture of our original soul and all those who have touched it, and when it has reached its capacity it does not weaken but rather moves on to that from which it came. I have patches from my mom and dad, from a husband and son, from friends and a brother, to all of those whom I carry as part of my soul I am grateful for what you have added to my heart/soul, I miss you all, love you all and until I am with you again will wrap my soul quilt around me and thank god for all the patches yet to come, it is dawn now so I think I will watch the sun come up and say a little prayer asking for really strong thread. from his loving sister wanda

Thoughts are with you & your daughters Wendy ! Although our paths didn't cross often, Mike seemed like the type that grabbed life by the horns and lived it. He,like his bud Kipper, could strike up a conversation with anyone and he was who he was... no puttin' on airs ! Feel blessed to have known him and will make sure I do a kind deed in his honour. I am sure you have loads of memories that will bring back the smiles when you think of them. Hugs to All, Heather & Ron (Cowboy)
