Obituary of Cory Alexander Hall
The death of Cory Alexandar Hall of Quispamsis, occurred by accident on June 29th, 2014 in Peru.
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on January 18th, 1989, he is the son of Mark and Linda Hall. Cory graduated from Kennebecasis Valley High School in 2007 and then from the New Brunswick Community College in 2010 after completing a course in industrial mechanics then earning his Journeyman designation in 2012.
He had a love for adventure, which started with mountain biking at an early age. He loved to travel, spending summers in Western Canada, venturing to the Patagonia region of South America, to the Indian Himalaya, and many other countries around the world. Cory had ridden a motorcycle from Canada to Peru, having countless adventures along the way.
Cory was also an avid mountain climber. He established many rock climbing routes both locally and in the places he visited. In September 2013, Cory travelled to the Ladakh Region in Northern India near the Pakistani border and established the Monypenny Hall of Fame climbing route on the Jungdung Kangri mountain. This first ascent of the mountain earned a nomination for the 2014 Piolet d’Or, a highly distinguished award in the climbing community.
Cory’s spirit was infectious and had an immediate impact on everyone he met both locally and in his travels. Besides his loving parents, Cory is survived by his three sisters Kaela, Ashlyn and Alyssa, maternal grandfather Donald Ouellette.
A private family viewing will be held. A celebration of Cory’s life will take place at the Kings Valley Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 7:00 pm. Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (849-2119)
