Obituary of Jonathan Michael Young
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our precious boy Jonathan on October 3, 2014. Jonathan died at home in Rothesay surrounded by his loving family after more than a year-long battle with Medulloblastoma.
Born on August 2, 2003, Jonathan had just graduated from Rothesay Elementary School and was to begin classes at Rothesay Park School this fall.
Jonathan always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humour. He had a beautiful singing voice and he participated in KidSing, gymnastics, drama and hip hop dance.
Jonathan is survived by his parents Neil and Angela and brother Adam, at home in Rothesay, grandparents Gordon and Carol Young and Florence Potts of Fredericton, aunts Karen Smith (Philip) of New Maryland and Stacey Conrad of Fredericton, uncles Chris Young (Karen) of Quispamsis, Graeme Young (Claudette) of Fredericton, Dean Potts (Stacey) of Miramichi.
Jonathan's cousins were also his best friends and he was lucky to be able to spend lots of time with them playing games, skiing on family trips to Sunday River and hanging out at Grand Lake. He will be forever missed by Erica, Travis, Bethany, Jacqueline, Rachael, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Gregory, Andrea, Sidney and Cameron.
Jonathan also had great support from his BFF Pierce Davis and his wonderful oncology nurses Wendy Harris, Judy Clark and Sarah Ross.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119) with visiting on Monday October 6, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. David's United Church, Rothesay on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the IWK - Department of Neurosurgery or to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation - Pediatric Oncology.
