Obituary of Marlene Ann Vaillancourt
With great sadness the family of Marlene A. Vaillancourt (nee Houley), announce her passing which occurred Friday, May 3, 2019, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Gaetan Vaillancourt, cherished mother of Katrina and Leah, and doting grandmother to Audrina and Hunter.
Marlene met the love of her life Gaetan, in Brantford, Ontario, at a Valentine's Day dance. They were married later that year and together raised two beautiful daughters, who were Marlene's pride and joy. The recent addition of her grandchildren was a great source of happiness and delight.
In addition to her immediate family, Marlene is survived by her brothers: John (Fernande), Gerald (Shirley), Lawrence (Elizabeth) Houley; and her sisters: Helen Lavallee, Frances Morin, Margie (Bob) Brosseau, Nora (Bob) Feeley and Patsy Feeley; as well as several nieces and nephews. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary (Donahue) Houley; brothers, George and Dennis; and her nephews, Danny and Scott.
Marlene's fun loving courageous spirit will be missed by her family and all her treasured friends.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119). Visitation will be taking place on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 from St. Mark's Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, at 10:00 AM. Donations made in memory of Marlene may be made to the Arthritis Society of NB, KV Committee for Disabled Persons Inc. or the charity of the donor's choice.
