My husband Bill and I met Shirley many years ago in Vancouver through her daughter Anne and son-in-law Stuart.
Several years after meeting Shirley, we made a trip with our family to the Maritimes. On that trip, Shirley and Noel invited us to their home in Wolfville for lunch and on the menu were her famous lobster rolls. The lunch was delicious and Shirley and Noel were the perfect hosts. Shirley then took time to show us around Wolfville, parts of the Annapolis Valley, the Bay of Fundy, and Grand Pre. We had a wonderful day as Shirley pointed out the beauty, the geography, the uniqueness, and the history of this amazing part of Canada.
We were fortunate to have seen Shirley in Vancouver many times after that visit. She will always be remembered fondly for her sense of humour and for the hospitality and kindness she extended to our family.
