Obituary of Shirley Marie Clarkson

Shirley Marie Clarkson of Quispamsis, wife of the late Alan “Noel” Clarkson, passed away peacefully at her residence with her daughter Lynn by her side, on Friday, September 3, 2021.

Born on October 1, 1926, in Trail, BC. She was a daughter of the late Robert and Marie (Lapsley) Anderson. Mom graduated from Royal Victoria Hospital in April 1949 as an RN. While in Montreal, she met her husband Noel Clarkson, where she started her career and family. Mom loved to golf, curl, ski, swim, garden, but most of all time with her grandchildren. Mom loved to volunteer and always there to help those in need. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Shirley is survived by her son David (Pamela) of Saint John, daughters; Anne (Stuart) Hankinson of Vancouver, BC, and Lynn Clarkson of Quispamsis, NB, nine grandchildren; Jennifer (Adam Morash), Justin (Lisa), Luke (Becky) and Thomas (Tracey) Clarkson, Erin, Jamie (Julia) and Carly Hankinson, Michael (Jennifer Hogan) and Marty (Anna) Green, 13 great grandchildren and two nieces.

Besides her husband and parents, Shirley is predeceased by her grandson Timothy.

A very special thanks to three most amazing people in Mom’s life that gave her so many more great years to live; Dianne, Lidia, and Pam. Thank you for all you have done. You were like family to her. Also, thanks to Dr. Allan Rombaut and Extramural for the care they provided.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at a later date, when friends and family can gather. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
