Obituary of Shirley Blanche Hamilton
Hamilton, Shirley (Lennox) - Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, USA on December 15, 1929, deceased on December 5, 2022 at the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre in Hampton NB.
Shirley is predeceased by her husband Richard Harvey Hamilton, her child son Brian Goodwin, and her parents Hilda and Arthur Lennox. She is survived by two sons; Richard Alan Hamilton and his wife Bonnie of Edmonton, AB and Timothy Hamilton of Quispamsis, NB. Two Granddaughters: Kristina Barnes (Colin), and Rachel Hanes (Richard) and a total of six great-grandchildren, Olivia and Calianne Barnes and Jadeyn, Avery, Landon and Tanner Hanes. Also survived by siblings Gloria, Beverly and Raymond and predeceased by siblings Jean, Preston, Basil and Neil. She will be dearly missed by all nieces and nephews.
As a young adult, Shirley had several jobs before starting her work career with Sears in New Brunswick and continued her life-time career with Sears Canada in Cambridge, Ontario until her retirement. After retirement, both Shirley and Richard returned to Rothesay New Brunswick to live out their golden years.
Family time was always very important to Shirley. She especially loved her summer vacations to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to see the family. Shirley had a great love for plants and gardening. She also loved to write letters, bake and feed the birds.
A very special thank you to the staff at the V A Snow Center for the care they provided during her final years.
The arrangements are under the direction and care of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119). Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm with Funeral Service starting at 1:00 pm from Kennebecasis Funeral Home. A reception will follow. For those unable to attend, a livestream of Shirley's service can be viewed at www.kennebecasisfh.com . Burial for Shirley will be held at a later date in Argyle Sound NS. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Leukemia Research Fund or Alzheimer's Society of NB.
