Obituary of Robert Lawrence Robertson
It is with heartfelt sorrow, the family of Robert “Bob” L. Robertson, husband of Shirley (Witherall) Robertson, announce his passing on Friday, April 28, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family.
Born on May 2, 1933, in New Waterford, NS, he was a son of the late Joseph and Isabel (White) Robertson. Bob served with the Canadian Armed Forces in the 3 RCHA, and as Military Police from 1955-1981, retiring as MCPL. Bob then worked 13 years for the Nova Scotia School for Boys. He took part in the Military bands throughout his career, along with the Salvation Army bands and playing Tuba in Shelburne, NS Community Band. Bob was known for being kind, having a wonderful sense of humor and his strong faith and hard work.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Shirley, his sons; Rev. Wayne (Brenda) of Houlton, Maine, Rev. Dale Robertson of Yarmouth, NS. Their grandchildren; Alicia Robertson, Lauren Quinn, Spencer Robertson, and Shaylea Robertson, great grandchildren; Courtney, Zhavia, Killian, Aiden, and Scarlet, sisters; Marilyn Wasowicz, Grace Gosbee (Victor), Debbie Gosbee (Glen), as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents, Bob is predeceased by his sister Eva Robertson.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital, for their amazing care and support. It was greatly appreciated by his family.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Kennebecasis Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road,
Quispamsis (506-849-2119) on Wednesday May 3, 2023, at 2 PM, with visiting starting at 1 PM. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed and may viewed on the provided link on Bob’s obituary at www.kennebecasisfh.com Interment to take place at Brown’s Flat United Cemetery at a later date. Donations made in memory of Bob can be made to Kings Church, or to Diabetes Canada, would be appreciated by the family.
