Obituary of Bonnie James
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Bonita “Bonnie” James, announces her passing which occurred on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, at Carleton Kirk Lodge. Bonnie was born on July 20th, 1948, in Saint John, NB, and was the daughter of the late Darryl and Audrey (Kyle) Gates.
During her working years, Bonnie was a Ward Clerk for the Saint John Regional Hospital. Bonnie loved spending time at Big Salmon River with her late husband Brian, where they would listen to the radio and catch fish. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved to be active with her family playing games like cards or horseshoes. Bonnie was a longstanding member of the Big Salmon River Angling Association.
Bonnie is survived by her step-son, Robert (Jill) James; beloved granddaughters, Hannah and Grace James; special nephew, Ron (Tina) James and their children Mikki and Caleb; sisters, Cathy (Howie) Sherman and Darrellene (Hugh) McGillivary; her daughter, Krista (Kris) Stackhouse. She was predeceased by her husband, R. “Brian” James, her brother, Robert Gates, as well as her parents.
Resting at, Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd. Quispamsis (506-849-2119); visitation will take place at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Hammond River on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, from 10:00-12:00pm, a funeral service will follow visitation at 12:00pm. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Hammond River following the service. For those who wish, donations made to the Kennebecasis Valley Food Basket or Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated by the family
