Marg – as mentioned to you last night we are very sorry to learn of Ken’s passing. We feel for you and the rest of the family for your loss through this difficult time
Ken was a very dedicated and hardworking individual as everyone knew. He applied his vast technical knowledge to help out customers often putting it ahead of his personal stuff. Ken loved his job. How many times did he do his magic to keep the old DC machinery on the ferries, CCG and DFO vessels alive? When the Sydney industrial base declined and we needed Ken in Saint John, Ken and Marg moved. Truly a dedicated employee.
When I first went to see Ken in Sydney he presented me with a "Cape Breton Passport" which I still have to this day. A true gesture of his warmth and kindness
Ken touched a lot of people during his busy life. It was a priveledge to have known and work with Ken. He will be sadly missed by all.

I am sadden to hear of Kenny's passing and offer my sincere condolences to his family.
I met Kenny almost 30 years ago when I was a young kid fresh out of school who moved from Newfoundland to work at Westinghouse in Dartmouth.
Kenny was a great person to learn from technically, how to deal with customers, and how to manage life when so often being on the road as we were back in those days.
I still have a lot of great memories of the year we worked together in Port Hawkesbury during construction of the new papermill.
With my deepest sympathy, Justin Gray, Bedford, NS.

Marg, very sorry to hear of Ken's passing. As with Don, I met Ken at Westinghouse almost 50 years ago. I had gone on a number of jobs with Ken in Nova Scotia (mostly in Cape Breton while you guys lived there) but lost touch when relocated to the Saint John office. But I still have fond memories when were at jobs site. He was certainly driven to ensure customer satisfaction and quality of work. Again, my sincere condolences to you and your family.

My sincere condolences to the family on the loss of this wonderful person!
I have known Ken for many years mainly during my Life Westinghouse.
Ken was the renowned expert when it came to rotating equipment.
He surely had other great skills as well for sure.
I was based in St. John's NL, and Ken would on occasion come here for rotating projects.
I really enjoyed working with him, he always had that big smile and knew a few jokes or two.
Everyone had the greatest respect for Ken, including the customers and associated employees.
My only regret now is that I did not get to see him for a number of years now.
Ken occasionally called me to chat about things over the years but when Westinghouse closed things changed.
What a great guy he was.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
All the best to the family at this terrible time.

Marg, very sorry to learn of Ken's passing. I first met Ken at Westinghouse about 50 years ago. Ken was a serious but friendly individual as a colleague. There were no teasings or shenanigans of any sort. Ken earned your trust and one always new where Ken's obligations lay and that was with his customers. I never got to know Ken personally but I sensed his kind nature. RIP Ken.

We, as a family, have many memories of Ken when he lived next door to us in Mira. Along with fond memories, there were “funny” memories which we cherish. Our sincere condolences Marg to you, your girls and their families.

I’m sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. Having grown up living next door to Ken, I have a lot of memories watching him with fascination with his boat, skidoo, and tractor. When he wasn’t busy at work he was busy working around his home. I’ll remember Ken as a kind person and great neighbour. - Grant Wiesner

Ken was our “neighbour across the road”. Always seemed quiet but quick to wave a hand, especially if aboard his beloved winter only tractor, Joanne and I always felt that Ken looked forward to big snow storms…..just so he could justify firing up “old Betsy” and plow his driveway.
The other thing we’ll remember about our great neighbour is that he was always seemed to be dressed in black. He could have worked as a double for Johnny Cash during his heyday. He’d be the “other” man in black.
It is disappointing to realize that Ken was relatively young, and should have had many more retirement years to enjoy., However, in the last several years it became apparent that Ken was having health and mobility issues, limiting the time he could spend outside walking with Marg and their dog Lucy. Life doesn’t always seem fair and Ken’s premature passing is an example of a fine person being dealt a lousy hand. Ken deserved better and we’ll miss his big smile and friendly chatter.
Hopefully, he will find another vintage tractor in his new residence beyond the clouds.
