Obituary of Ken Adam
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Kenneth “Ken” John Adam, husband of Margaret of Darlings Island, announces his passing which occurred on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Ken was born on June 10, 1949, in Toronto, Ontario, and was the son of the late Archie and Maragret (Keating) Adam.
Ken is going to be remembered as a hardworking family man, who would think of others before himself. He loved to spend time with his family and having his colleagues over to his house. He would often be found tinkering on projects or making his famous “Grampy Pizza” for his grandchildren. Ken and Margaret met in Dartmouth, NS, where they began to raise their family together, eventually moving to New Brunswick as Ken’s profession as an Electrical Technologist brought him to Saint John, where he worked for many years with Siemens Westinghouse Canada. Married for 41 years, they spent many days going for drives or making memories with their family. All those who knew Ken knew, if he didn’t tease you, he might not have liked you. He always had a smile on his face and a warm welcome for anyone who needed it. In his later years he found great solace in feeding the wild birds that visited his yard on Darlings Island.
Ken is survived by his wife Margaret Adam; daughters Lisa (Terry) Reid and Shellie (Tom) Desgroseilliers; brother, Norman Adam and sister, Barbara Adam; as well as his beloved grandchildren: Felisha Hickey, Brian Inkpen, Travis and Taylor Reid, Morgan, Kara and Amanda Desgroseilliers and Amber Jakeman; great-grandchildren: Dekai, Dreyen, Ava, Owen, Luka and Myla; niece, Lindsey Adam; as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his parents.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their care and compassion towards Ken.
Arrangements are under the care of Kennebecasis Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Rd. Quispamsis (506-849-2119). In keeping with Ken’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish donations to the War Amps would be appreciated by the family.
