I have so many wonderful memories of Murray, but my proudest moment with Murray was presenting him with his Maritimer of the Month award. He was smiling from ear to ear! Such a well-deserved award, and he was beaming to receive it <3 I will miss you, my dear friend.

I have known Murray (and Phyllis) since I was little, attending Rothesay Baptist Church. They both will always be remembered as the stylish, smart and witty couple who were faithful servants for Christ. I too remember the many times Murray welcomed me at the back of the church and handed me the church bulletin. In later years, I had the privilege of catching up with Murray on many Sunday mornings before services. He was a very kind and thoughtful man and he will forever be remembered.

Sorry to hear of Murray's passing. I only knew him through his annual visit to my business to collect a donation for the Cardiac Rehab at the Regional Hospital. He was such an energetic, friendly, and passionate individual and he would leave a very positive impression on anyone who met him.

It was a special gift to have known Murray & Phyllis for over 20 years. We met on Myrtle Avenue, Venice Florida. My daughter and I looked forward each snowbird season to their arrival knowing we would be spoiled by Phyllis's treats and Murray would look after us. Murray was a kind and gentle man. Always willing to help us! Our friendship continued through the years by telephone and letters. He never forgot my birthday! Murray was a gem! God Bless him as he is finally reunited with his son and Phyllis in heaven.. Susie Bogutski

Murray was our boss at the Dominion store on Thorne Ave. And was a great boss he was. No nonsense.....well maybe a little bit! I remember we would be packaging frozen scallops and he would toss one to me and we would both enjoy a frozen scallop. The only time he got mad at me was when I forgot to put the guard down on our meat slicer and sliced my hand instead. He was not impressed when I came back from the hospital with a giant pressure bandage on! Burt and I were honored to have him and Phyllis as guests at our wedding. I think he knew the two of us would be together.
He lived a good, long and fulfilled life. May he rest in peace.
With much love and respect,
Colleen and Burt Donahue

Growing up on the Gondola Point road, Murray and Phyllis were our neighbors. I have many fond memories of picking rhubarb in their backyard, and being invited inside for treats. We also attended the same church and Murray was always there to greet everyone with a smile. Whenerver I would sing in service as a teen, Murray would always be the first to tell me how beautiful the song was. He truly lifted everyone up and loved the Lord. My prayers go out to all who knew and loved him xo

Murray has been a part of my life since I was a young girl living in the North End of Saint John. He, Phil and Ronnie also lived in the North End and our families became instant friends. When our family moved to Gondola Point in the early 60s, the Gilchrists were not long in joining us. They became the proud owners of one of the first developed lots in Sherwood Park and Murray continued to enjoy his "new home" until he entered Hospital just a few months ago. We kept an eye on each other's comings and goings and he will be terribly missed in the neighbourhood. Murray was a true gentleman, a true friend and, the best neighbour a person could have. RIP , "Murray G." ❤️
